JUAN FRANCISCO CABREJA
Co-Founder​​​​​​​, BIM Coordinator
Juan Francisco Cabreja is a skilled professional with experience in Educational, Institutional and Residential buildings, particularly in the public sector. He provided leadership in project management while coordinating school maintenance projects for the Municipality of San Juan, PR. Has been charge of implementing Avant guard construction technologies through BIM planning and design for HUD projects. Juan has been devoted to providing his skills for the community and social interest projects such as Cantera Resiliente, a public design-build, and Cinema Paradiso, a community driven design using reusable materials. During the aftermath of Hurricane María he managed to efficiently coordinate FEMA and AFI assessments in over 200 public schools within challenging schedules. Juan received his Architecture bachelor’s degree in the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. ​​​​​​​
MELISSA BELTRÁN-KNUTSEN, ASSOC. AIA
Co-Founder, Operations Manager
An emphasis on the Residential sector, Melissa has been in charge of various Renovations projects in Iowa, Indiana & Puerto Rico as well as interior detailing. She has collaborated as architectural designer with a focus on the development of designs and As-Builts through the implementation of BIM software, for 5 years and architectural visualizations for 6 years. Melissa has been in charge of successful community proposals for the Municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. At Afro Studio she provides her multidisciplinary skills in logistics managing marketing operations and new client outreach. Melissa obtained her M.Arch and Art History Bachelor's in the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus.
XAVIER I. LIND-DOMÉNECH, ASSOC. AIA
Co-Founder, BIM & Project Manager
With participation in HUD Residential & Commercial industries, Xavier is team leader with experience in a range of project scales around the New York City area and Puerto Rico. Has been involved in all development phases and processes through BIM implementation. From culturally-sensitive Community Review Board meetings and Permitting, to Construction Documents and Administration. Has provided support in the use of alternative systems like modular stack buildings, and bamboo structures in Colombia. He’s fond of raw and bio materials like super adobe & rammed earth as well as the research and detailing behind their constructability analysis that ultimately leads to a more nature-friendly built environment.​​​​​​​ Xavier holds Master’s Degree in Architecture and minors in Graphic Design, Commercial Advertising and Interior Design, from La Universidad de Puerto Rico in Río Piedras & Carolina.
